Question: How does a Community Group differ from my small group Bible study?
Answer: Most Bible study groups exist primarily to study the Bible or some other area of Christian living. While relationships may develop in a study group and members may begin caring for each other in practical ways, these activities are secondary to learning and life application of biblical truth. In a Community Group, Bible discussion is blended with prayer, worship, and shared life experiences to achieve the primary goal of nurturing an authentic biblical community
Question: Are Community Groups just like Sunday Morning Adult Learning Center classes?
Answer: No. While there may be similarities, the focus of the Learning Center Class is Christian education in a classroom setting. The Community Group setting is much more informal, and is more conducive to small group discussion where people can share personal insights. One of the purposes of Community Groups is to encourage the application of truth rather than just providing more truth.
Question: How can I get involved in a Community Group?
Answer: There is a large map of the area in the main foyer. This map pinpoints all the current locations of the FBC Community Groups. Beside this map you will find a rack of business card sized Community Group information cards. Groups that have openings will have cards available. You simply find a group that is in your area and has an opening. Take one of the information cards and contact the group leader. The group leader will give you more detailed information about the group and you can join the group at their next meeting.
