Applying biblical truth to life is not as easy as it sounds. In fact, it is probably one of the most difficult aspects of the Christian life. The goal of the Community Group is to work together and wrestle with the truth to see how it is applied to daily life. There is freedom in the truth of abundant life in Christ when it is applied to our lives. If that truth is never used in real life, then it is only more information, just as an unwrapped gift is just a pretty box.
Authentic biblical community is the key to connect relationally, grow spiritually, and explore ways to share the love of Christ. Recognizing that relationships thrive in an environment of intimate connection, common experience, and genuine sharing, Community Groups provide a way to know and be known by others. Joining with a small group of people who share similar experiences is a vital link in developing a greater dependence on God and a greater bond with each other. Are there people in your life that will laugh with you, cheer for you, stay and pray with you when times are hard, love you when you are unlovable, and help you trust God more each day? A Community Group is that place where we can invest and give our lives for the sake of Christ.
There are times in all of our lives when we need someone to come along side and gently love us back into community. Jesus calls himself the "good shepherd" (John 10:11-16) and that he loves His sheep to the point that He is willing to lay down His life for the sheep. Community Groups leaders are challenged to prayerfully shepherd people in their group in the same manner that Jesus would shepherd them, with genuine love, compassion and caring. How warm and inviting would that kind of shepherding be in your life?

You can join others making similar journeys and enjoy sharing and applying truth, being transparent and authentic, growing in unity and love, becoming more like Christ.
