Donation Policy

To ensure that all donations are used consistently with the mission and purpose of Fellowship Bible Church (“FBCVA”), the Board of Elders ("Elders") have adopted the following donation policy.

This policy was adopted to ensure that FBCVA complies with IRS regulations and based on the recommendations of FBCVA’s legal counsel. The IRS has issued various requirements and guidance on the use of tax deductible gifts to non-profits such as FBCVA.  One of these requirements is that for such gifts to remain tax deductible, FBCVA (and its Elders) should retain complete control over the use of the funds.  In other words, FBCVA must not be bound by designations on gifts.

Accordingly, all funds that are given to FBCVA will be subject to administration and control of the Elders to ensure that they are used in accordance with the mission and purpose of FBCVA. Whether certain uses and/or amounts are in accordance with the mission and purpose of FBCVA will be determined by the Elders in their sole and absolute discretion. This policy includes all funds that are given for a particular direction and purpose. Donors will still be able to request that funds given be used for a certain purpose and if the Elders agree (in their sole and absolute discretion), the funds will be so used. However, if the Elders disagree (in their sole and absolute discretion), then the Elders may use the funds for whatever purpose they determine is appropriate and consistent with FBCVA’s mission and purpose.

By using this site, you are agreeing that all donations you make to FBCVA, whether using this website or otherwise, are subject to the FBCVA Donation Policy.
