Baptism

POTLUCK:  4:30 PM in the Hospitality Suite;
SERVICE: Sunday, February 25, 2023 at 6 PM in FBC's Main Auditorium

Baptism is a vital part of identifying with the body of believers.

After trusting Christ as our Savior, the Scriptures command us to publicly give testimony of our faith in Christ through water baptism. Water baptism is God's creative way to picture our salvation. It helps us visualize what happened to us when we were born again. Baptism helps us tell others what Christ did for us when He died on the cross, and it openly identifies us with Him. We are publicly identifying ourselves with Christ—His death, His burial, and His resurrections (Romans 6:1-5). Water baptism in no way contributes to our spiritual birth. It merely bears witness to the fact that we have trusted Christ and are born again. It is, in essence, the first step in discipleship, the first step in following Jesus as our Master and Lord.

Baptism services are performed three times a year. A class is offered to fully explore what baptism means. If you would like to be baptized, we are here to help you take that next step in your relationship with Christ. If you are interested in being baptized and would like to get started, fill out the contact form below. You can also download the document below to help you prepare for this very important step in your journey of faith.  Children 6th grade and younger do not attend the class, but will interview with the Children's Director and their parent.

Next Class: Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 7 PM (Register below)

Join us Sunday, February 25 at 4:30 PM for a church potluck (bring a main dish, side, or dessert to share) before the baptism!

The baptism service will be at 6:00 PM in the main auditorium on Sunday, February 25.
