AMOS - Chapter 4 Part 2

 Amos 4:6-13

Declarations from the LORD through the prophet Amos


These declarations are about God being true to His word.

Leviticus 26 — the blessings for obedience and the punishments or judgments for disobedience.

In that list of judgments, you will find:

* Famine

* Drought

* Pestilence/plagues

* Wars

* Military defeat

* Cities destroyed

 GOD’S JUDGMENTS ARE FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESTORATION

“… yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.” 



Thoughts for this week - Judgment?   Discipline?   Or, Both?

What circumstances (some perhaps being judgments or discipline from the Lord) has God brought into your life to get your attention?

“When bad things happen to good people “

How do people react when “bad things” happen to them?

How do you react when “bad things” happen to you?


And that’s what I want to leave with us this morning:

* THE GREATNESS OF OUR GOD

* HIS SOVEREIGNTY

* HIS REVELATION

* HIS LOVE AND CARE

* HIS DESIRE FOR RELATIONSHIP (EVEN WHEN THAT RELATIONSHIP REQUIRES JUDGMENT OR DISCIPLINE)
