2 Timothy Introduction

It is evident from other NT passages that Timothy visited, ministered with and to Paul during and between imprisonments, as well as to Ephesus and beyond for an additional 10 years
2 Timothy was written sometime perhaps in early 67 A.D. and then Paul was executed later that yr.
Paul mentored Timothy to the end which is evidenced by the letter of 2 Timothy!
We also know that Timothy ministered another 30 years mostly in Ephesus until his death in 97 A.D.
If indeed, Timothy had any weaknesses, God surely enabled him with sufficient Grace to complete His work until the Lord called him home.
Timothy ministered for 50+ years and certainly was of the caliber of a Special Forces Soldier – Tested, Tried and found True!

Think about and perhaps share some of your own positive, negative or difficult life experiences – then consider how God may have been growing you more into Christ-likeness.

If indeed, God is sovereign over all experiences and all things, then ask yourself in what ways have any of the negative or difficult experiences in your life yielded any positive spiritual growth? And share with someone.
