Most data gathering occurs while you are hearing their “story.” Being a great listener is the key to gathering data. Learn how to develop good listening skills and avoid common pitfalls. Develop skill in asking the appropriate kinds of questions for the situation – extensive or intensive. And remember these words of warning: He who gives an answer before he hears, it is folly and shame to him. Proverbs 18:13
