1:5 “But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from a sincere faith.”

This may not be the thematic statement of 1 Timothy, but the author summarizes his commands this way!
The goal – the aim, the end, the outcome, the finish, is love (agapē).
