The Christian Pilgrim is Approved by Faith

The saint that lives as a pilgrim on the earth seeking the heavenly country by faith will obtain approval from God and receive eternal rewards in the world to come. The author of Hebrews is urging his readership to look past their present suffering for Christ to the great reward that will be granted them for their perseverance in the faith toward the heavenly country. He lists examples from the saints of old who lived by faith, obtained God's approval, and received an everlasting possession in heaven.
