AMOS - IT MATTERS TO GOD

Chapter 8 Part 1

 Amos 8:1-10

This is what the Lord God showed me, and behold, there was a basket of summer fruit. 2 And He said, “What do you see, Amos?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me, “The end has come for My people Israel. I will not spare them any longer. 3 The songs of the palace will turn to wailing on that day,” declares the Lord God. “The corpses will be many; in every place they will throw them out. Hush!”

•What do you think is meant by the basket of summer fruit?

What do we know by the end of the vision? (What did we know by the end of the last vision?)

What is God planning to accomplish? Is it judgment, is it discipline, is it repayment, is it justice?

•Are the Israelites secular or religious? How do we know? Why does it matter? Why does it matter to us?

•What is the relevant equivalent of what the Israelites are doing? “I do that when I ________________”

•What does it mean that God will never forget any of their deeds?
