2 Corinthians 1:1-11 The Mystery of Suffering

To sum it up, Paul presents three reasons for the suffering God allows in our lives:

·      That we might be equipped to comfort others (v. 1-7)

·      That we might not rely on ourselves, but entrust ourselves to God (v. 8-10)

·      The we might learn to give thanks in everything (v. 11)

Application questions

1.    What trials are you facing? How might God be equipping you to comfort others in the future?

2.    Have you ever hit the “betrayal barrier”? What got you through it?

3.    What things do you need to give thanks for? Will you ask God’s help to do that?
