AMOS - THE FOURTH TRANSGRESSION

 Amos 1:1– 2:5

Amos reminds us that God keeps track of horrible injustice in our world. How does that encourage us to trust in His justice, even when it seems delayed or absent?

“For three transgressions of __________, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because __________- consequences

Under God’s Watchful Eye

1)1:3  God has seen the individual sins of men

2)1:6  God has seen every single monstrosity of Gaza’s slave trading

3)1:9  God has seen every broken promise

4)1:11 God has seen all hidden hatred

5)1:13 God has seen every ambition that has no pity on those it crushes

6)2:1   God has seen all thoughts of vengeance in the hearts of men

What is the one sin that runs like a continuous evil thread through every transgression

It is pride of self that is intent on its own well-being regardless of human cost

God supremely values human relationship. These violations are all against those who are made in God’s image and therefore, violations against a Holy God.

They are deserving of the consequences of the fourth transgression

CONFESSION AND REPENTANCE FOR CLEANSING AND RESTORATION
