301 Class Twelve - Dealing with Resistance

Resistance, or "push-back", when counseling an individual takes many forms. It may include not responding to deceit, changing the subject, shifting blame, angry resentment, or humorous redirection. It is inevitable that you will experience resistance as you encourage the person you are counseling to examine their motives.
The Bible contains many examples of resistance. We will look at those examples, ways in which we might experience resistance while counseling, and how to counsel someone who shuts down when confronted.
