Judges - Part 24
Judges 20-21 - The Plight of the Benjamites
A Chronicle of God’s Matchless Mercy in the Midst of the Willful Disobedience and Apostacy of His People
- The tribes were strongly unified in order to purge evil out of the land
- BUT a strong lack of unity was evident throughout the rest of the time of the judges
They – Levites and elders – perverted the Law to suit their desires
They did what was right in their own eyes
Regarding matters of interpretation:
- Are there any parallels to our legal system?
- Are there any parallels to what we see in the church today?
- How does our behavior, our culture, our faith get normalized?
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Ephesians 4:11-14 (ESV)
