A Season of Discernment

Exploring God’s Leading for Biblical Education at Fellowship
At the November 9 Fellowship Family Meeting, the Elders shared that they have been in prayerful conversations for some time with Scot Keen regarding the possibility of his serving as Pastor of Biblical Education at Fellowship Bible Church.

These conversations have been marked by careful listening, shared convictions, and a desire to discern the Lord’s leading together. The Elders are committed to approaching this process thoughtfully and with dependence on God, seeking wisdom not only for today but for the long-term spiritual health of our church family.

We are grateful to share that Scot and his wife, April, have agreed to continue exploring this opportunity with the Elders. As part of that process, the Keens plan to be with us the weekend of January 10–11, during which Scot will preach at our weekend services. This will provide an opportunity for our church family to hear him teach and to continue building relational connection.

While this is not yet a final decision, the Elders believe it is important to walk transparently with the congregation and to invite you into this season of discernment. We ask that you would join us in praying—for the Elders, for the Keens, and for clarity as we seek the Lord’s will together.

Thank you for walking with us in prayer, trust, and unity as we continue to follow God’s leading for Fellowship Bible Church.

Exploring a Potential Call as Pastor of Biblical Education

Scot has served in pastoral and academic ministries since 1998. For twenty years, Scot served as an Instructor and Academic Dean at Ethnos360 Bible Institute. He currently teaches in the Bible Exposition department at Dallas Theological Seminary and serves part-time with Ethnos360 as Global Trainer and Content Developer. Scot earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership, and PhD (ABD) in Bible Exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary. Scot and April have been married for 25 years and have three wonderful children: Jon Wiley, Madison, and Sadie. The Keens are driven by the conviction that a life well-lived is a life of godly character, sacrificial service, and hopeful anticipation of Christ’s return. The Keens love history, backpacking, and the great outdoors.
