This is your primetime.
We believe the people who make up the 60+ age group have much to offer in terms of their life experiences, wisdom, and gifts, even in their older years. If you're in this stage of life and call Fellowship home, we have some tremendous opportunities for you. We realize all seniors are not the same. But what we do have in common is Jesus, and that makes all the difference in the world.
Mark Your Calendar for our Monthly Gatherings!
Our Seniors Gatherings are a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, hear how God is at work, and be encouraged in your faith. Join us each month for fellowship, meaningful conversations, and special guests who will inspire and challenge us in our walk with Christ.
Upcoming Gatherings:
June 10
Project Belong
Learn about Project Belong, an initiative designed to mentor young adults as they transition into the “real world.” You’ll hear how seniors can play a meaningful role in investing in the next generation.
NOTE: Following our formal program, we will have Dawn Kennedy with Seniors First (formerly called the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging) to present to those who are interested on Senior Medicare Patrol and the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program. Senior Medical Patrol is a federally funded program that helps older adults protect themselves from Medicare fraud, scams, and identity theft. This program offers free confidential help and unbiased advice about Medicare, Medicare Advantage, prescription drug plans, Medigap, and other insurance options for seniors. Dawn will provide a 15-20 minute in-service, focusing on the most common scams and insurance questions facing seniors. I highly recommend you stay for this presentation.
July 8
Christy Voelkel – God’s Highway Project
Christy will introduce her study of Isaiah 40–66, which focuses on bringing comfort to those who are hurting and discouraged. Using the picture of building a highway, she walks through four key steps God models with Israel:
July 29
Annual Seniors Picnic
Join us for our annual picnic—rain or shine! No sign-ups required--just show up with your favorite side dish, salad or dessert to share. The church will provide the fried chicken, drinks, and place settings.
August
There will be no regular gathering this month. Instead, we’ll host another round of “Meet & Eat” lunches, with sign-ups at our June and July Gatherings.

- Lifting up the valleys (encouraging and strengthening)
- Tearing down mountains (addressing pride and defenses)
- Straightening crooked places (realigning values and goals)
- Removing stumbling stones (overcoming fear, shame, and despair)
