Habakkuk - “God, Where Are You, and What Are You Doing?”- Message

Oct 11, 2026  •  Tim Sanford

How can we trust God when we don’t understand what He is doing? In this message from Habakkuk 1:1–2:1, Tim explores why trusting God depends not on knowing what He is doing, but on knowing who He is.

As God reveals His plan to use the Chaldeans (Babylonians) to bring judgment, Habakkuk struggles to understand why God would work in a way that seems contrary to His character and purposes. His questions reflect a struggle many believers face: wanting God to act according to our expectations rather than trusting His wisdom and sovereignty.

This passage challenges us to examine our hearts, recognize our need for God, and grow in our understanding of His character through His Word. Spiritual maturity isn’t about comparing ourselves with others; it’s about seeing our own need and learning to depend on Him.

God invites us to trust Him even when the future is uncertain. Rather than demanding that God explain Himself or change His methods, we can learn to rest in who He is and wait expectantly for His Word.
