“Fear for the Next Generation” - Message
Aug 23, 2026 • Caleb Pearson
In a world that constantly warns us, “We may ruin our future,” Jesus offers a far greater promise: “I will build my church.” In this sermon from Matthew 16, we’re reminded that fear for the next generation does not have the final word. Jesus’ question to His disciples—“Who do you say that I am?”—is still the most important question we will ever answer, and Peter’s confession points us to the unshakable truth that Christ is the Messiah, the Son of the living God. In a culture marked by uncertainty, false truth, and identity confusion, we can face the future with confidence because Jesus is not passive—He is actively building His church, and not even the gates of Hades can overpower it.
